Controller buttons are unresponsive or intermittent

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before working on the control panel.

Steps:

• Clean surface: Wipe the keypad surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not flood the panel with water.
• Reseat cable: Open the control box and reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control board.
• Check for cracks: Inspect the keypad PCB (if separate) for cracks or broken traces near the buttons.
• Replace keypad: If specific buttons never respond or require excessive pressure, replace the keypad or entire front control assembly.
