Controller temperature reading jumps erratically during cook

Safety first: Unplug the smoker before accessing wiring.

Steps:

• Inspect sensor cable: Follow the sensor wire from the probe inside the cabinet to the control box. Look for pinch points, cuts, or melted insulation.
• Reseat connector: Unplug and replug the sensor connector on the control board several times to clean contacts.
• Secure cable: Use high-temp clips or ties to secure the cable so it does not move or rub during use.
• Replace sensor: If erratic readings persist, replace the temperature sensor probe assembly.
