Possible Causes
Missing or misaligned drip pan, Clogged drain hole or channel, Excessive grease buildup overflowing internal pan, Smoker not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the smoker to cool before cleaning grease. Grease can ignite if exposed to open flame.
Steps:
- Verify drip pan placement: Ensure the external drip pan is installed in the correct position under the drain hole or tube.
- Clean drain path: Locate the internal drain hole or channel at the bottom of the cabinet. Clear any hardened grease or food debris with a small brush or pipe cleaner.
- Clean interior: Remove excess grease from the bottom of the smoker and from any internal drip tray.
- Level the smoker: Use a level to ensure the smoker is not tilted away from the drain. Adjust legs or place shims under the cabinet as needed.
