Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the smoker before removing any covers. If you suspect wiring damage, do not continue to operate the unit.
Checks:
- Test the wall outlet with a receptacle tester or multimeter. Verify correct wiring and voltage (typically ~120 VAC in North America).
- Avoid using long or lightweight extension cords; plug the smoker directly into a properly grounded outlet.
- Remove the rear or bottom access panel and inspect where the power cord enters the smoker. Check the strain relief and internal connections for looseness or heat damage.
- Look for an internal fuse on or near the control board. If accessible and visibly blown, replace with the exact same type and rating.
- If E7 persists and the outlet tests good, the power supply section of the control board may be damaged and the board should be replaced.
Warning: Do not upsize fuses or bypass safety devices. If fuses blow repeatedly, have a technician check for shorts.
