Safety: Use caution around hot surfaces when observing operation.

Steps:

Verify the temperature sensor probe or thermostat sensing bulb is firmly mounted in its bracket and not touching the heating element or cold wall.
Ensure the sensing bulb is positioned as originally installed (usually mid‑height in the cabinet).
Check for loose connections at the sensor terminals on the control board.
Minimize door openings during cooking; each opening forces the control to react to rapid temperature changes.
If cycling remains extreme and sensor placement is correct, the control board's temperature algorithm may be faulty and the board should be replaced.

Smoker cycles on and off too frequently, causing wide temperature swings.
