Possible Causes
Control pilot signal out of tolerance, Incorrect maximum current configuration, Vehicle incompatibility with charger mode, Loose internal CP/PP wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Many handshake issues do not generate a specific error code on the charger.
- Test with another EV: If possible, try charging a different vehicle to determine if the issue is vehicle-specific.
- Check cable and connector: Inspect the ABB cable and connector for damage, dirt, or corrosion. Clean and dry as needed.
- Verify settings: Use the ABB app or interface to confirm that the charger is set to the correct mode (e.g., single-phase vs. three-phase where applicable) and that current limits are within the EV’s capability.
- Power cycle both sides: Turn off the charger at the breaker and reboot the vehicle (lock, wait, unlock), then retry.
- Internal wiring check (technician): A technician should verify tight and correct connections for CP and PP lines between the control board and connector.
