ABL Mechanical Socket / Locking Mechanism Fault

ABL charger’s Type 2 socket flap or mechanical lock is stiff, does not close properly, or fails to lock the plug.

Possible Causes

Worn or contaminated locking pin, Broken return spring in socket assembly, Misaligned front cover, Dirt or debris in locking mechanism

Steps:

Visually inspect the socket flap and locking pin for dirt or foreign objects; remove debris carefully.
Do not use oil‑based lubricants; if lubrication is needed, use a small amount of dry PTFE spray, avoiding the electrical contacts.
Check that the front cover is correctly aligned and not pressing against the socket.
If the lock motor fails to engage or release, have a technician test the lock actuator and replace the socket module if necessary.
