Possible Causes
Overheating of plug or socket contacts, Loose Type 2 socket wiring inside ABL charger, Marginal upstream supply causing voltage dips, EV onboard charger sensitivity to pilot fluctuations
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps:
- Feel for heat: After a few minutes of charging, carefully touch (without force) the plug and socket area. It should be warm at most, not hot. If very hot, stop using and inspect for damage.
- Check cable strain: Ensure the cable is not under tension or twisted, which can stress contacts.
- Try another circuit/vehicle: If possible, test the EV on another charger and test another EV on this ABL charger to isolate the problem.
- Inspect internal terminals: With power OFF, have an electrician open the charger and tighten the Type 2 socket terminals and main power terminals to the specified torque.
If interruptions persist, the socket module or main control board may require replacement after further diagnostics.
