Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Critical safety warning: E03 indicates a possible earth leakage. Do not attempt repeated restarts without inspection. Risk of electric shock.
Immediate actions:
- Disconnect the vehicle: Unplug the connector from the EV.
- Switch OFF power: Turn off the upstream breaker and any external RCD protecting the ABL charger.
- Inspect for moisture: Check the plug, cable, and charger front for signs of water, condensation, or damage. If the unit is wet, allow it to dry completely (at least several hours) before re‑energizing.
- Check the cable: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or exposed conductors. Replace a damaged cable immediately.
- Reset and test: After drying and visual checks, restore power and attempt a short test charge. Monitor for recurrence of E03.
When to involve a professional: If E03 reappears with different vehicles and cables, the integrated residual current monitoring (RCM) module or internal wiring may be faulty. A licensed electrician or ABL service technician must test insulation resistance and replace the RCD/RCM module or power board as needed.
