Possible Causes

Disconnected RFID reader cable, Failed RFID antenna module behind front cover, Corrupted authorization database on controller, Faulty RFID interface on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before removing the front cover to access the RFID module.

  • Step 1 – Test multiple cards: Try more than one RFID card or tag known to be authorized. If none work, suspect the reader or controller.
  • Step 2 – Check configuration: Using the Alfen management interface, confirm that RFID authorization is enabled and that your cards are correctly registered.
  • Step 3 – Inspect RFID module connection: With power OFF, remove the front cover and locate the RFID reader board. Ensure its ribbon cable or connector to the main PCB is fully seated.
  • Step 4 – Visual inspection: Check the RFID antenna area for physical damage, cracks, or water ingress behind the front panel.
  • Step 5 – Reset authorization data: If supported, back up and then reset the authorization database via the Alfen tool, then re‑enroll cards.
  • When to call a technician: If E010 persists, the RFID reader module or main PCB RFID interface may need replacement by a service technician.
