Possible Causes

Damaged Type 2 charging cable, Contaminated or bent Type 2 socket pins, Faulty control pilot (CP) circuit on main control board, Defective proximity (PP) resistor network in charge connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the Amperfied wallbox via its external isolator or circuit breaker and ensure the vehicle is in Park and powered off before touching the connector.

  • Inspect the Type 2 plug and socket: Unplug the cable from the car and the wallbox (if detachable). Check for bent, recessed, or contaminated pins, melted plastic, or corrosion. Clean light dirt with a dry, lint‑free cloth only. Do not use liquids or sprays.
  • Try a different cable: If you have a second Type 2 cable, test with that. If the error disappears, the original cable’s PP/CP wiring is likely defective and the cable should be replaced.
  • Check cable locking: Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the vehicle and the wallbox until you hear/feel the lock engage. A partially seated plug can interrupt the pilot signal.
  • Power‑cycle the charger: Turn the wallbox off at the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and retry. This resets the control board’s pilot signal circuit.
  • If E01 persists: The CP/PP circuitry on the main control board or the integrated Type 2 socket module may be faulty. Do not open the sealed electronics compartment yourself; contact a qualified EVSE technician or Amperfied service for board or socket module testing and replacement.
