Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation slots on wallbox housing, High ambient temperature near charger, Loose high‑current connections causing localized heating, Faulty internal temperature sensor on power board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Overheating can damage components and pose a fire risk. Do not cover or obstruct the charger.
- Allow the unit to cool: Stop charging and let the charger sit idle for 30–60 minutes. Ensure direct sunlight or other heat sources are minimized.
- Check ventilation: Make sure no objects, insulation, or debris are blocking the ventilation slots or cooling paths on the Amperfied housing.
- Reduce charging current: If your model or app allows, set a lower maximum current (e.g., from 32 A down to 16–20 A) and see if the error stops occurring.
- Inspect mounting location: If installed in a confined space (small cabinet, tight garage corner), consider improving airflow or relocating the unit with the help of an installer.
- If E06 recurs at normal temperatures: An internal temperature sensor or power board may be faulty. A technician should open the unit, check for discoloration or burnt marks on the power board, tighten all power terminals, and replace the temperature sensor or power module as needed.
