Possible Causes

Faulty control pilot (CP) voltage sensing, Damaged CP wire in Type 2 cable, Contaminated or damaged CP pin in socket, Defective main control board input circuitry

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: De‑energize the charger before touching internal wiring. External cable checks are safe with power off.

  • Inspect the CP pin: On the Type 2 connector, locate the small CP pin and check for dirt, corrosion, or mechanical damage. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
  • Test with another vehicle: If possible, connect a different EV. If the second vehicle is recognized, the issue may be with the first vehicle’s inlet.
  • Try a different cable: If your Amperfied charger uses a socket (not tethered cable), test with another Type 2 cable to rule out a broken CP conductor.
  • Power‑cycle: Turn off the charger at the breaker for a few minutes, then restore power and retry.
  • If E08 persists with multiple vehicles/cables: The CP sensing circuit on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced by an authorized technician.
