Charger shows E06 and will not charge; sometimes accompanied by a tripped house breaker or RCD.

Safety: A short circuit can cause severe damage. Turn OFF the breaker immediately and do not re-energize until the fault is located.

• 1. Inspect the cable and handle:
  • Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or obvious damage on the AMPROAD cable and J1772 handle.
  • If any damage is visible, replace the entire cable & handle assembly.
• 2. Check for water ingress:
  • If the charger or handle has been exposed to heavy rain or flooding, do not use it until fully inspected and dried.
  • Replace any components that show corrosion or tracking.
• 3. Internal relay inspection (qualified only):
  • With power OFF and locked out, open the charger.
  • Locate the main power contactor/relay on the power board.
  • Check for welded contacts by measuring continuity across the relay output with the unit de-energized and in the OFF state. There should be no continuity.
• 4. Replace faulty parts:
  • If the relay is welded or the power board is damaged, replace the AMPROAD power board assembly.
  • If the cable is shorted, replace the cable & handle assembly.
• 5. Final test: After replacing components, reassemble, restore power, clear E06 by power-cycling, and test with a known-good vehicle.
