Possible Causes
Shorted or missing diode in vehicle inlet, Damaged pilot circuit in J1772 handle, Incorrect polarity on pilot driver circuit, Faulty control board pilot sensing input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: This error often indicates an incompatibility or wiring issue. Turn OFF the charger before internal inspection.
- 1. Test with another vehicle:
- If another EV charges normally, the issue is likely with the original vehicle’s inlet diode and not the AMPROAD charger.
- 2. Inspect the J1772 handle:
- Check for physical damage to the handle and pilot pin.
- If the handle has been dropped or run over, replace the cable & handle assembly.
- 3. Internal pilot circuit check (advanced):
- With power OFF, open the charger and inspect the pilot driver and sensing components on the control board.
- Look for burnt resistors or damaged components in the pilot circuit.
- 4. Replace control board if needed:
- If the pilot circuit is damaged and the cable is good, replace the AMPROAD main control board.
- 5. Coordinate with vehicle service: If E09 only occurs with one vehicle, advise the owner to have the vehicle’s charge inlet inspected by the dealer.
