Possible Causes
Failed internal current transformer (CT) or shunt, Loose CT connector on power board, Incorrect calibration data in firmware, Damaged sense traces on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the breaker before opening the charger. Current sensors are part of the high‑power path.
- 1. Power-cycle and reset:
- Turn OFF power for several minutes, then restore.
- If the charger has a calibration or factory reset option (per AMPROAD manual), perform it.
- 2. Inspect CT/shunt connections:
- Open the charger and locate the current sensor (ring CT around conductor or shunt resistor on the power board).
- Ensure the sensor connector is fully seated and wires are intact.
- 3. Visual inspection:
- Look for cracked CT housing, burnt shunt, or discoloration.
- 4. Replace sensor or board:
- If the CT or shunt is damaged, replace the AMPROAD power board or sensor assembly as a unit.
- 5. Verify operation: After replacement, run a test charge and confirm that current readings in the app or display are accurate and E12 is cleared.
