Possible Causes
Incorrect pilot duty cycle generation, Firmware bug in pilot negotiation, Faulty pilot measurement circuit, Vehicle requesting unsupported current level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: This is a control/communication issue, not usually a high‑voltage failure. Still, turn OFF power before internal work.
- 1. Test with another vehicle:
- If another EV charges normally, the issue may be with the original vehicle’s onboard charger.
- 2. Check charger current setting:
- Ensure the maximum current configured in the AMPROAD app matches the circuit rating and charger model.
- 3. Firmware update:
- Check for AMPROAD firmware updates that address pilot negotiation or compatibility.
- Apply updates per manufacturer instructions.
- 4. Inspect pilot circuitry:
- With power OFF, open the charger and inspect the pilot driver and sensing components on the control board for damage.
- 5. Replace control board if needed: If pilot circuitry is faulty and firmware is current, replace the AMPROAD main control board.
