Possible Causes

Tripped MCB/RCBO feeding Andersen charger, Blown internal fuse on main control PCB, Loose line/neutral at supply terminal block, Faulty external isolator switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not remove covers or touch internal wiring unless you are a qualified electrician. EV chargers are permanently wired devices.

User steps:

  • Check your consumer unit: look for a tripped MCB/RCBO labelled for the EV charger. If tripped, reset once. If it trips again immediately, do not keep resetting.
  • If there is an external isolator near the Andersen unit, ensure it is in the ON position.
  • Confirm that other circuits in the house have power; if not, there may be a wider supply issue.

If the charger remains dead:

  • A qualified electrician should verify voltage at the Andersen supply terminals.
  • If supply is present, they should open the unit and check the internal fuse (if fitted) and connections to the main control PCB.
  • Replace the internal fuse only with the exact type and rating specified by Andersen. If it blows again, investigate for internal shorts and replace the main control PCB if required.
