Possible Causes
Loose connection in tethered cable at strain relief, Overheating of Type 2 socket contacts, Marginal Wi‑Fi or smart‑charging control interrupting sessions, Vehicle‑side charging control aborting due to detected fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: After a dropout, carefully feel the cable and socket area; if they are excessively hot, stop using the charger and isolate power.
User steps:
- Disable smart scheduling and any external smart‑charging integrations temporarily; set the charger to immediate/manual mode.
- Try charging at a lower current via the Andersen app.
- Inspect the tethered cable for kinks, crushing, or damage, especially near the entry gland into the Andersen unit.
- Test with another EV or cable if possible.
If dropouts continue:
- A technician should check for loose terminations on the tethered cable inside the unit, inspect the socket contacts for discoloration, and measure temperature rise under load.
- Replace the tethered cable or socket assembly if overheating or poor contact is found.
