Charger will not start charging; front LED shows solid red with E01 on the display/app.

Safety first: Turn off the Andersen charger at the local isolator or consumer unit breaker before touching the socket or internal components. Never work on live EVSE circuits.

Steps to try:

• Power cycle the charger: Switch the dedicated MCB/RCBO for the Andersen unit OFF for 60 seconds, then ON. Wait 2–3 minutes for the charger to boot and reconnect to the app.
• Inspect the Type 2 connector: Check the plug and the Andersen Type 2 socket for bent, recessed, or contaminated pins (especially the small CP and PP pins). Clean gently with a dry, non‑metallic brush. Do not use liquids.
• Test with another cable: If you have a removable Type 2 tether or an external cable, try a different cable to rule out a damaged lead.
• Check cable latch and seating: Ensure the Type 2 plug is fully inserted and latched into the Andersen socket. A partially seated plug can cause pilot/proximity errors.
• App diagnostics: Open the Andersen app, check for firmware updates, and run any available self‑test. Clear the error if the app offers that option and re‑test.

If the error persists: The control pilot circuit or socket assembly may be faulty. Do not bypass safety circuits. Contact a qualified EV charger technician or Andersen support for testing and likely replacement of the socket or main control PCB.
