How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Water inside an EV charger is dangerous. Turn off the charger at the consumer unit immediately and do not use it.
User steps:
- Visually inspect the outside of the unit for cracks, missing screws, or obvious gaps around the cable entry.
- Do not attempt to dry the inside with a hairdryer or heater; this can worsen damage.
For a technician:
- Isolate power and open the unit.
- Dry the interior thoroughly using lint‑free cloths and gentle ambient air; do not use high heat.
- Inspect for corrosion on the main control PCB, terminals, and socket; replace any damaged components.
- Replace the front cover gasket, cable gland, or enclosure if compromised, and reseal according to Andersen IP rating requirements.
