Possible Causes
Shorted fan driver transistor on main board, Faulty temperature sensor reading high, Firmware bug keeping fan command active, Stuck relay controlling fan power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Continuous fan operation is not immediately dangerous but indicates a control issue.
- Power-cycle the charger: Turn off the breaker for a few minutes, then restore power. Observe whether the fan stops after boot.
- Check temperature readings: In the service or installer interface (if available), view internal temperature sensor values. If they read abnormally high at room temperature, the sensor or its wiring is faulty.
- Inspect fan wiring: With power off, ensure the fan is connected only to its designated header and not accidentally shorted to a constant supply.
- Replace faulty components: If the sensor is defective, replace the temperature sensor harness. If the driver circuit is shorted, replace the main control board.
Leaving the fan running constantly may shorten its life; correct the underlying control fault.
