Possible Causes
Loose wall mounting screws or anchors, Internal components not firmly secured, Cable strain pulling on housing, Resonance between housing and wall surface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before tightening any mounting hardware or opening the unit.
- Check wall mounting: Ensure all mounting screws are tight and that appropriate anchors are used for the wall material. Tighten as needed.
- Inspect internal components: With power off, verify that the contactor, terminal blocks, and PCBs are firmly screwed down and not touching the housing.
- Secure cables: Use cable ties or clamps to prevent heavy cables from pulling on the housing or vibrating against it.
- Add damping if needed: In some cases, adding rubber washers between the charger and wall (if allowed by Audi) can reduce resonance.
Persistent rattling may indicate a failing contactor; inspect and replace if necessary.
