Audi wallbox displays E05 and charging is limited or disabled; may occur during hot weather or after long charging sessions.

Safety first: Overheating can damage internal components. Allow the charger to cool before touching the housing.

• Check ambient conditions: Ensure the charger is not installed in direct sunlight or in a confined, unventilated space. Measure ambient temperature; if above the specified limit in the manual, improve ventilation or shading.
• Inspect vents and fan: Look for dust, spider webs, or debris blocking the ventilation slots. Gently vacuum or brush away obstructions. If your Audi charger has an internal fan, listen for its operation during charging; absence of fan noise may indicate failure.
• Cool-down and reset: Turn off the breaker and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes. Restore power and attempt charging. If E05 recurs quickly at low load, a faulty temperature sensor or power module is likely.
• Professional sensor check: A technician can read internal temperature sensor values via the service interface or measure sensor resistance directly. Replace the temperature sensor harness or main control/power module if readings are incorrect.

Do not cover the charger or obstruct airflow. Persistent E05 in normal ambient conditions requires component replacement.
