Possible Causes

Failed RFID reader module behind front panel, Damaged front panel or antenna, Loose connector between RFID module and main board, Firmware configuration error disabling RFID

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is a low-voltage subsystem; still disconnect power before opening the housing.

  • Test multiple RFID cards: Try more than one authorized card to rule out a single bad card. Ensure cards are held flat against the marked reader area.
  • Check configuration: In the Audi app or installer interface, verify that RFID authentication is enabled and that your cards are correctly registered.
  • Inspect front panel: Look for cracks or physical damage over the RFID area that might affect the antenna. If the panel is damaged, it may need replacement.
  • Reseat RFID module: With power off, remove the front cover and locate the RFID reader board. Reseat its connector to the main control board.
  • Replace RFID reader: If E14 persists and the module does not respond in diagnostics, replace the RFID reader assembly.

Until repaired, you may be able to disable RFID authentication in settings (if allowed) to continue charging, but this reduces access control.
