Possible Causes
Failed LED/display board, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Damaged front panel electronics due to moisture, Faulty 5 V/3.3 V supply to HMI module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the front panel.
- Check for life signs: Confirm that the charger still responds in the app or via vehicle connection. If only the display is dead, the fault is likely limited to the HMI.
- Inspect front panel: Look for signs of water ingress, cracks, or impact damage. If moisture is present, dry the area and identify the source of ingress.
- Reseat connectors: With power off, remove the front panel and reseat the ribbon cable or connector between the display/LED board and the main control board.
- Measure HMI supply voltage: A technician can verify that the low-voltage supply to the display board is present. If missing, the main board regulator may be faulty.
- Replace HMI module: If the display board is unresponsive with correct supply, replace the HMI/display module. If supply is missing, replace or repair the main control board.
While the charger may still function without a display, it is safer and more convenient to restore full HMI functionality.
