Possible Causes

Incorrect current setting above circuit rating, Short or partial short in output cable, Faulty current sensor (CT) on main board, Internal relay contact welding causing misread current

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Overcurrent can overheat wiring. Do not repeatedly reset without finding the cause.

  • Verify current settings: In the Autel app or charger menu, confirm the maximum charging current is set at or below the circuit breaker rating and wiring capacity.
  • Inspect cable and connector: Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or hot spots on the connector and along the cable. If any damage is found, replace the cable assembly.
  • Check for tripped breaker: If the upstream breaker is tripping along with E006, the circuit may be overloaded or shorted. Have an electrician test for shorts and verify wiring.
  • Internal inspection (qualified only): With power off, inspect the internal contactor/relay and current transformer (CT) connections. Look for discoloration or loose wiring.
  • Test at lower current: Reduce the charger’s max current and attempt a session. If E006 still appears at low current, the current sensing circuit or CT is likely faulty and the main control board or CT assembly should be replaced.
