Possible Causes

Welded or stuck contactor contacts, Open contactor coil, Loose control wiring from main board to contactor, Faulty contactor driver circuit on main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: The contactor switches high current. Only qualified persons should service it.

  • Listen for click: When starting a charge, you should hear a distinct click from the internal contactor. No click suggests a coil or control issue; repeated clicking with no charge suggests contact problems.
  • Visual inspection: With power off and cover removed, inspect the contactor for discoloration, melted plastic, or signs of overheating.
  • Check coil connections: Verify the low-voltage control wires from the main control board to the contactor coil are secure and undamaged.
  • Measure coil resistance: Using a multimeter (qualified only), measure the contactor coil resistance and compare to specifications. An open or shorted coil requires contactor replacement.
  • Replace contactor if needed: If contacts are welded or the coil is defective, replace the contactor with an Autel-approved part. If the contactor tests good but E008 persists, the driver circuit on the main board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
