Possible Causes

Shorted output cable, Incorrect breaker size or wiring, Internal short in power stage, Welded relay causing inrush beyond design

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Turn it OFF and leave it off until the fault is found.

  • 1. Verify breaker and wiring: Confirm that the breaker size and wire gauge match Besenergy installation requirements for the charger’s rated current.
  • 2. Inspect output cable: Look for visible damage or crushing. If the cable is compromised, replace the entire output cable assembly.
  • 3. Test without vehicle (qualified): With power OFF, disconnect the output cable from the internal terminals. Restore power and see if the breaker still trips when the charger attempts to start (without a vehicle). If it no longer trips, the cable or vehicle is suspect.
  • 4. Internal short inspection: If the breaker still trips with the output disconnected, inspect the main relay, power stage, and wiring for signs of arcing or burnt components. Replace any damaged parts or the entire charger if necessary.

When to call a professional: Breaker tripping under load should be evaluated by a licensed electrician or EVSE technician.
