Possible Causes

Faulty control pilot modulation circuit, Incorrect firmware configuration for maximum current, Noise or interference on pilot line, Defective main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power before opening the charger. External checks can be done with power on.

  • 1. Verify charger current setting: On adjustable Besenergy models, confirm that the maximum current is set correctly and not at an unsupported value. Reset to factory default if unsure.
  • 2. Test with another vehicle: If E10 only appears with one specific EV, the issue may be with that vehicle’s onboard charger. Consult the vehicle manufacturer.
  • 3. Inspect output cable and connector: Damage to the pilot conductor can distort the PWM signal. Check for cable damage and connector corrosion; replace the output cable if suspect.
  • 4. Firmware reset/update (if supported): Some Besenergy chargers allow firmware reset via app or service menu. Perform a reset to clear any corrupted settings. Only update firmware using official Besenergy tools.
  • 5. Internal board fault: If the problem persists across vehicles and after reset, the pilot modulation circuit on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.

When to call a professional: For firmware issues or board replacement, contact Besenergy support or a qualified EVSE technician.
