Besenergy
Connector Presence / Latch Sensor Fault
Charger shows E18; unit may not detect that the connector has been unplugged or may keep the relay engaged.

Possible Causes
Stuck latch switch in connector holster, Broken microswitch or magnetic sensor, Damaged wiring from latch sensor to main board, Faulty input circuit on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power before working near internal wiring. Do not rely on the charger to de-energize if it misdetects connector presence.
- 1. Inspect holster and latch: Many Besenergy wall units have a holster or dock with a sensor. Check for dirt, debris, or mechanical obstruction preventing the latch from moving freely. Clean and lubricate lightly if needed (use plastic-safe lubricant).
- 2. Listen for switch click: Insert and remove the connector from the holster while listening for a faint click from a microswitch. No click may indicate a failed switch.
- 3. Internal wiring check (qualified): With power OFF, open the charger and trace the latch sensor wires to the main board. Ensure they are intact and firmly connected.
- 4. Replace latch sensor: If the switch or sensor is physically damaged or does not change state when actuated (requires meter), replace the latch sensor assembly.
- 5. Main board input fault: If the sensor tests good but E18 persists, the input circuit on the main control board may be defective and require board replacement.
When to call a professional: For sensor or board replacement, contact a qualified technician.
