Possible Causes

Loose high-current connection, Shorted component on control board, Overheated contactor contacts, Damaged cable or connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Immediately stop charging, unplug the vehicle if safe, and turn off the breaker. Do not re-energize until the cause is found.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • Visual inspection: After cooling, open the Blink unit and look for charred components, melted insulation, or soot.
  • Check cable and handle: Inspect for melted plastic or burn marks. Replace the cable assembly if damaged.
  • Tighten and inspect terminals: With power OFF, check all lugs for tightness and signs of overheating.

Any burned or melted components (contactor, terminals, boards) must be replaced. Because of fire risk, have a qualified EVSE technician evaluate and repair the unit.
