Blink EV charger displays E02 and refuses to energize the relay; charging does not start.

Safety first: Do not bypass ground fault protection. Turn off power at the breaker before opening the charger.

Steps to troubleshoot:

• Visual inspection of connector: Disconnect from vehicle. Inspect the J1772 handle for moisture, dirt, or corrosion. Dry thoroughly and clean with electrical contact cleaner.
• Check for water ingress: Inspect the cable entry gland and enclosure seams on the Blink unit for signs of water trails or rust. If present, the internal GFCI sensor may be compromised.
• Test with another vehicle: If E02 only appears with one vehicle, the vehicle’s onboard charger or inlet may be leaking to ground. Do not continue using until the vehicle is inspected.
• Internal check (qualified persons only): With power OFF and cover removed, locate the GFCI current transformer (ring-shaped sensor around the line conductors). Check for cracked housing, water marks, or loose wiring to the control board.
• Reset and retest: After drying and reassembling, restore power and attempt a charge. If E02 persists with multiple vehicles and the connector is dry, the GFCI sensor or control board is likely defective.

Do not defeat or bypass the GFCI circuit. Replace the faulty sensor or board, or contact Blink support/EVSE technician.
