Possible Causes

Open ground at service panel or receptacle, Loose ground lug inside Blink charger, Corroded or painted-over ground connection, Faulty ground monitoring circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not operate the charger without a verified equipment ground. Turn off power before opening the unit.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • Verify ground at panel: Have a qualified electrician confirm that the EVSE circuit has a continuous, low-impedance ground back to the service equipment.
  • Inspect internal ground: With power OFF, open the Blink enclosure and locate the green or bare ground conductor. Ensure it is securely fastened to the ground bar or stud and free of corrosion.
  • Check bonding: Confirm that the metal enclosure (if applicable) is bonded to ground via a dedicated bonding screw or strap.
  • Look for paint or rust: If the ground lug is mounted on painted metal, ensure the paint is removed under the lug to provide a solid connection.
  • Control board monitoring: If all physical grounds are correct and E07 persists, the ground monitoring circuit on the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.

Never defeat ground monitoring. Correct the grounding issue or replace faulty electronics.
