Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: De-energize the charger at the breaker and verify with a meter before internal work.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- Locate feedback wiring: Inside the Blink unit, identify the small-gauge wires from the main contactor auxiliary contacts to the control board.
- Check connections: Ensure the feedback connector is fully seated on the control board and that spade or screw terminals on the contactor aux contacts are tight.
- Continuity test: With power OFF, use a multimeter to verify that the auxiliary contacts open and close when the contactor is manually actuated (if possible). Replace the contactor if aux contacts are stuck or open-circuit.
- Inspect for welding: If the main contacts are welded closed, the feedback logic may detect a mismatch. Replace the contactor if welding is suspected.
- Control board input: If aux contacts test good but E09 persists, the feedback input circuit on the main control board may be defective.
Because this involves safety interlocks, do not bypass feedback wiring. Replace the contactor or control board as required.
