How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not use the Wallbox if the cable insulation is damaged. Turn off the breaker immediately.
- Inspect extent of damage: Look along the entire length of the cable for cuts, exposed conductors, or flattened sections.
- Do not tape over: Do not attempt to repair EV charging cables with tape or generic heat-shrink; this is unsafe.
- Prevent further damage: Keep the cable off the ground when not in use using the provided holder, and avoid driving over it.
The only safe remedy for a damaged BMW Wallbox cable is replacement of the entire cable assembly by a BMW-authorized technician.
