Possible Causes

Failed LCD or OLED panel, Loose display ribbon cable, Backlight failure, HMI controller fault on main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the breaker before any physical inspection. Do not pry open the display module.

  • Check via app: Use the BMW Charging app to view status and settings; if all functions work, the issue is likely limited to the display hardware.
  • Power-cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 2 minutes, then ON, to see if the display recovers.

If the display remains blank but charging is functional, the display module or its connection is faulty. A BMW service partner can replace the display or main front panel assembly.
