- Listen for fan: During charging, you should hear the internal fan (if your model has one). No sound and E17 indicates a likely fan issue.
- Clean vents: Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust from intake and exhaust vents.
- Check environment: Ensure there is at least the minimum clearance around the Wallbox specified in the manual.
If E17 persists, the fan or its control circuit is defective. A BMW-authorized technician should open the unit, test the fan, and replace the fan assembly or main board as needed.
