Possible Causes
Short circuit in output cable or connector, Welded main contactor/relay inside BYD charger, Faulty current sensor on power module, Incorrect current calibration on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Overcurrent faults can indicate serious internal damage. Turn off the breaker immediately.
- Inspect the cable and connector: Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or exposed conductors on the BYD cable and plug. Do not use if any damage is visible.
- Try a different vehicle (if safe): If E07 only occurs with one vehicle, the fault may be on the vehicle side. Consult the vehicle manufacturer.
- Do not repeatedly reset: Repeatedly attempting to charge can worsen damage if the relay is welded or a short exists.
- Professional inspection: A technician should test the main contactor/relay for welding and verify current sensor readings via BYD diagnostic tools.
- Replace damaged components: If the relay or power module is confirmed faulty, replace with BYD-approved parts only.
