Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at charger location, Incorrect Wi-Fi credentials, Faulty internal Wi-Fi module, Interference from nearby devices
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Charging may still work locally even if Wi-Fi is down, but remote features and firmware updates will not.
- Step 1 – Check router and internet:
- Verify your home Wi-Fi network is working on other devices.
- Restart your router.
- Step 2 – Signal strength:
- Use a smartphone at the charger location to check Wi-Fi signal strength.
- If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi-Fi extender.
- Step 3 – Reconfigure Wi-Fi:
- Open the ChargePoint app and follow the steps to reconnect the charger to Wi-Fi.
- Ensure you are using the correct SSID and password and a supported frequency band (2.4 GHz if required).
- Step 4 – Power cycle charger:
- Turn OFF the breaker for 1–2 minutes, then turn it back ON.
- Wait for the charger to boot and attempt reconnection.
- Step 5 – Hardware fault:
- If Wi-Fi still fails while other devices work fine at the same location, the internal Wi-Fi module or communication board may be defective.
- Contact ChargePoint for module or board replacement.
