Possible Causes

Weak Wi-Fi signal at charger location, Incorrect Wi-Fi credentials, Faulty internal Wi-Fi module, Interference from nearby devices

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: Charging may still work locally even if Wi-Fi is down, but remote features and firmware updates will not.

  • Step 1 – Check router and internet:
    • Verify your home Wi-Fi network is working on other devices.
    • Restart your router.
  • Step 2 – Signal strength:
    • Use a smartphone at the charger location to check Wi-Fi signal strength.
    • If weak, move the router closer or add a Wi-Fi extender.
  • Step 3 – Reconfigure Wi-Fi:
    • Open the ChargePoint app and follow the steps to reconnect the charger to Wi-Fi.
    • Ensure you are using the correct SSID and password and a supported frequency band (2.4 GHz if required).
  • Step 4 – Power cycle charger:
    • Turn OFF the breaker for 1–2 minutes, then turn it back ON.
    • Wait for the charger to boot and attempt reconnection.
  • Step 5 – Hardware fault:
    • If Wi-Fi still fails while other devices work fine at the same location, the internal Wi-Fi module or communication board may be defective.
    • Contact ChargePoint for module or board replacement.
