How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: This applies only to ChargePoint home chargers equipped with cellular connectivity.

  • Step 1 – Check signal:
    • Use a mobile phone from the same carrier at the charger location to verify signal strength.
    • If poor, consider relocating the charger or using Wi-Fi instead.
  • Step 2 – Power cycle:
    • Turn OFF the breaker for 1–2 minutes, then turn it back ON.
    • Allow several minutes for the modem to register on the network.
  • Step 3 – Antenna inspection (qualified):
    • With power OFF, open the housing and locate the cellular modem module and antenna connection.
    • Ensure the antenna cable is firmly seated and not damaged.
  • Step 4 – SIM and account:
    • Contact ChargePoint support to verify that the embedded SIM and service are active.
  • Step 5 – Replace modem module:
    • If all else fails, the cellular modem module may need replacement by an authorized technician.
