How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Warning: Do not repeatedly power cycle during an active firmware update unless instructed by the manufacturer.

  • Step 1 – Stabilize network:
    • Ensure the charger has a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
    • Avoid heavy internet use during the update.
  • Step 2 – Retry update:
    • Use the ChargePoint app to manually trigger the firmware update again.
    • Wait until the process completes; this may take several minutes.
  • Step 3 – Power cycle after failure:
    • If the charger is stuck, turn OFF the breaker for 2 minutes, then turn it back ON.
    • Allow the charger to attempt recovery.
  • Step 4 – Factory reset (if supported):
    • Follow ChargePoint instructions to perform a factory reset via the app or local interface.
    • Reconfigure the charger and attempt the update again.
  • Step 5 – Hardware replacement:
    • If firmware cannot be written or the unit remains unstable, the main control board flash memory may be defective.
