Possible Causes
Open line conductor inside charger, Welded but non-conductive contactor contacts, Miswired output terminals, Vehicle rejecting power due to internal fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: High voltage is present even if the vehicle is not charging. Turn OFF power before opening the unit.
- Step 1 – Verify with vehicle: Check the vehicle’s charging screen for actual kW or amps. If zero, no power is flowing.
- Step 2 – Try another EV: If another vehicle charges normally, the issue may be with the original vehicle.
- Step 3 – Internal wiring check: With power OFF, verify that both line conductors are properly connected from the input to the contactor and from the contactor to the output.
- Step 4 – Measure output (electrician): Have an electrician measure voltage at the charger output when the contactor is engaged to confirm power delivery.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty components: If one line is open or the contactor is defective, replace the contactor or repair wiring as needed.
