Possible Causes
Misconfigured RFID or user access control, Corrupted access control database in charger, Failed RFID reader module (if equipped), App-based lock stuck in active state
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is a logic/access issue, not an electrical hazard.
- Step 1 – Check app settings: Open the Chevrolet EV or charger app and verify that the charger is not set to ‘Locked’ or restricted to specific users.
- Step 2 – Clear user list: If the charger supports RFID cards, clear and re-enroll authorized cards following the manual.
- Step 3 – Power reset: Turn OFF the breaker for 2 minutes, then turn it back ON to clear any stuck authentication state.
- Step 4 – Test without RFID: If possible, disable RFID requirement in settings and test if charging starts normally.
- Step 5 – Replace reader module: If the RFID reader or access module is defective, it may need replacement.
