Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker and lock it out if possible. Verify absence of voltage before touching internal components.
- Do not use the EVSE: A stuck or welded contactor can leave the output energized unexpectedly. Discontinue use until inspected.
- Visual inspection (qualified person): Remove the EVSE cover and inspect the contactor for signs of overheating, melted plastic, or discoloration.
- Check line/load wiring: Confirm that supply conductors are connected to the correct terminals as per the ClipperCreek wiring diagram. Incorrect wiring can cause feedback faults.
- Contactor test (advanced): With power OFF, check continuity across the contactor power poles. There should be no continuity when the coil is not energized. Continuity indicates welded contacts and the contactor must be replaced.
Because welded contactors are a serious safety hazard, replacement of the contactor and inspection of the control board should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified technician.
