Possible Causes

Corrupted configuration memory on control board, Incorrect dip switch or current setting, Failed EEPROM or NVRAM, Incompatible replacement board installed

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before opening the EVSE enclosure.

  • Check current setting: On some ClipperCreek models, maximum output current is set via internal dip switches or jumpers. Verify they match the unit rating and installation manual.
  • Inspect for non-OEM parts: If the board was recently replaced, confirm it is the correct ClipperCreek part number for your model.
  • Reset configuration (if supported): Some models allow a factory reset via a specific power-up sequence or jumper. Refer to the service documentation; perform only if documented.
  • Power cycle: Turn OFF the breaker for several minutes, then ON, to see if the error clears.

If configuration or memory cannot be restored and the 9-blink pattern persists, the control board must be replaced with the correct OEM board.
