Possible Causes
Loose pilot connection at control board, Intermittent cable conductor, Loose input lugs, Thermal expansion causing marginal connection to open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker before tightening any connections or opening the EVSE.
- Check cable strain relief: Ensure the cable gland is tight and the cable cannot move excessively where it enters the EVSE.
- Inspect and tighten terminals: Tighten input lugs, contactor terminals, and pilot/proximity screw terminals on the control board.
- Flex test cable: With power ON and charging, gently move the cable at various points (without stressing it) to see if charging drops out, indicating an internal break.
Replace any suspect cable assembly and correct loose connections. Persistent intermittent faults may require control board replacement.
