Possible Causes

Broken proximity switch in handle, Open or shorted PP resistor in handle, Damaged PP conductor in cable, Faulty PP sense circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the charger. The PP circuit itself is low voltage, but it is routed alongside high‑voltage conductors.

  • Step 1 – Handle inspection: Examine the Electrify America handle for physical damage around the latch button. If the button feels stuck or loose, the internal proximity switch may be broken.
  • Step 2 – Cable flex test: While the charger is OFF, gently flex the cable near the handle and at the wallbox entry. A broken PP conductor may cause intermittent E07 when moved.
  • Step 3 – Internal continuity check (qualified): With the charger open and power OFF, measure resistance between the PP pin in the handle and the PP terminal on the control board. Compare to Electrify America service specs; an open or short indicates cable/handle failure.
  • Step 4 – Board connector: Ensure the PP sense connector is fully seated on the control board and free of corrosion.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty assembly: If the handle switch or PP resistor is defective, replace the entire handle/cable assembly. If wiring is good but E07 persists, replace the main control board.
