Possible Causes
Undersized supply wiring causing voltage drop, Loose line connections at breaker or charger, Utility brownout conditions, Faulty input voltage sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Undervoltage can overheat motors and electronics. Have a licensed electrician verify supply conditions.
- Step 1 – Measure voltage under load: With a qualified electrician, measure line‑to‑line voltage at the charger while another large load (e.g., oven) is running. Voltage should remain within the specified range.
- Step 2 – Inspect terminations: With power OFF, check that all line conductors are securely landed at the charger and breaker. Retorque to manufacturer specs.
- Step 3 – Check wire gauge: Confirm that the branch circuit wire size matches Electrify America installation requirements for the charger’s current rating and run length.
- Step 4 – Utility check: If house voltage is consistently low, contact the utility provider.
- Step 5 – Board diagnostics: If measured voltage is normal but E13 persists, the input voltage sensing circuit on the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
