Safety first: Ensure the vehicle is in Park and the charger is de‑energized before manipulating the connector lock.

• Step 1 – Inspect handle latch: Check that the handle latch moves freely and is not obstructed by ice, dirt, or debris.
• Step 2 – Listen for actuator: When starting or ending a session, listen for the lock motor. No sound may indicate a failed actuator or power issue.
• Step 3 – Manual release (if provided): Some Electrify America chargers include a manual lock release. Follow the manual to release the lock and remove the connector.
• Step 4 – Internal inspection (power OFF): Open the enclosure and locate the lock actuator assembly. Check wiring, connectors, and look for mechanical binding.
• Step 5 – Lubrication and cleaning: Lightly clean the lock mechanism and remove any foreign objects. Do not use heavy grease that can attract dirt.
• Step 6 – Replace actuator or sensor: If the motor or position sensor is defective, replace the lock assembly with an Electrify America‑approved part.
